Life is made up of moments. In each of those moments we are faced with a choice. The decision we make then, determines the way we feel in that moment. Therefore, it goes without saying, the best way to have a happy life, is to have happy moments. We are in control of creating those happy moments. Here are some simple choices we can make to create happy moments and by extension, a happy life.

  1. Less Complaining, more Gratitude
  2. Less Frowning, more Smiling
  3. Less Talking, more Listening
  4. Less Planning, more Doing
  5. Less Worrying, more Hoping
  6. Less Doubting, more Believing
  7. Less Insecurity, more Confidence
  8. Less Blaming, more Understanding
  9. Less Ignorance, more Open-mindedness
  10. Less Hate, more Love

  1. Love this! Think it’s also important to realise that there’s two categories in life into which everything can fit: things we can control and things we can’t. Trying to control those in the second category leads only to frustration. I guess what I’m trying to say is that we must learn to focus on the things we can control

  2. For me its live how you were meant to, i’m sure there are more levels for me to go yet.
Btw thats a nice list too, agree with it wholeheartedly.

Re: Kindness, my view stems from recording things which have created stress in my life. I know who I am once I remove whatever is holding me back or stressing me out. I just love and be and minimise recording non business transactions and let the universe deal with it.

    1. “Live how you were meant to”–I like the sound of that.

      Re: Kindness
That’s an interesting practice. I’m sure it’s been working well for you; after all, taking note and minimising things that creates stress can only lead to a better life.

  3. I love this list, Candace!! The most important thing you mentioned that people need to realize is that happiness is a choice. If you choose to be happy, then you will be happier than you would have been without making that decision. With the right attitude and right mindset, the things on your list are easy to do. Unfortunately, far too many people struggle with “finding” happiness in their life. I gave up on searching for happiness, and have made the decision to create my own happiness every single day. I’ve never been happier than I am right now. I wish more people understood the power and importance of love. Not just a relationship with a significant other, but love in general. Love for ourselves and love for everyone in our lives. The best advice I could give to someone who wants to be happier is, “Love yourself and love one another.” When you love yourself, love the people around you, and love your life, then you will be happier. 🙂

    1. Thanks Danny. I came across it a while aback and always wanted to share it.
You always hit the nail on the head–“I gave up on searching for happiness, and have made the decision to create my own happiness every single day.”–ME TOO!!
I believe happiness is not something to be ‘found’ but rather created. I wish more people will realise this.

That’s some really good advice there. Thank you for sharing that 🙂

      1. You’re welcome! 🙂

And you’re 100% right… more people need to realize that they need to create their own happiness. Every day I hear people complain about things not going as planned, or read friends’ Facebook posts saying they just wish they could be happy for a change. I’ve tried to explain to a few of them that they can be happy if they truly want to be, but they don’t seem to understand or what to listen to me. I guess some people need to learn that lesson on their own.

      1. I have checked those guidelines … Soon I will drop a mail to you regarding collaboration. By the way, i only write spiritual posts and truth of life which can help people to understand life and be conscious true human with love, compassion, kindness…

  4. You can never be reminded of these simplicities that can practically turn your life around. I love where you say “choices”, that in itself is the key to a happier you, the choice is always yours. Awesome post babe!
